The 2025-26 school year brings new standards in ELA! If you are familiar with 360Writing, you will see some changes, given these new standards, though, fundamentally, the scope and sequence remains the same.
Key Narrative Instructional Components
The 360Writing frameworks have just two key instructional components:
1. Build vocabulary for narrative techniques (which comes from standard expectation 1.T.T.1.e)
- weeks 1- 2.* * - We embed instruction in grammar and mechanics within these two parts.
2. Follow the writer’s process to succeed - weeks 3-9.*
These two components remain the same, yet steadily build, across the grade levels, which reflects the K-5 progression of standard expectation T.T.1.e. See slides 6-9. Therefore, there is tight vertical alignment in writing instruction. Each grade level is a logical continuation of the previous!
