 Educator
s are among the most critical influence on a child. Still\, it’s no secr
et that managing behaviour issues in the classroom are what teachers strug
gle with most. Children’s emotional and life challenges can create probl
em behaviours that may seem complex. But when a student’s behaviours are
monitored and evaluated correctly\, educators can discover the appropriat
e intervention to modify the problem behaviour. The modifications made in
a classroom can set a child up for success or failure. But are some childr
en simply too challenging to respond to such classroom modifications?
 In
this chapter in a text\, Dr.Riffel addresses these problems.  For instan
 ce\, she begins with this:
We can’t hold kids accountable for beh
aviours if we haven’t taught them what those behaviours look like\, soun
d like and feel like. We can’t hold kids accountable for behaviours if
we haven’t taught them what those behaviours look like\, sound like and
feel like.So I talk to people about what I term the TIPP (teach\, imprint\
 , practice\, praise) method.
