 ding” or recertification process of Medicaid coverage.  This recertific
 ation process was put on hold for three years during the pandemic.  Becau
 se of the enormous reach of this effort\, it can potentially cause million
 s of our families to lose their coverage.  Please share the resources as 
 appropriate within your schools and districts to reach the parents to make
  them aware of this.

 r Families
 In response to the COVID-19 pandemic\, Congress passed the Fa
 milies First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) in March 2020. Under the FFC
 RA\, Georgia Medicaid members have been eligible for pandemic-era protecti
 ons during the federal public health emergency. Due to recent changes at t
 he federal level\, Georgia is required to redetermine eligibility for appr
 oximately 2.7 million Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids® members. Every Geo
 rgia Medicaid member must respond to requests for required information in 
 a timely manner.

 ces to determine how you can assist in providing information to families w
 ithin your school district to ensure they are prepared for eligibility che
 cks. We encourage you to seek creative ways to share this information with
  parents and families to ensure the continuity of healthcare coverage for 
 Georgia’s children – consider emailing or robocalling parents and care
 givers with information or including applicable materials in parent inform
 ation packets.
