26R. 6569, GaDOE, Dyslexia Informational Handbook: Guidance for Local School Systems (Revised July 2025)

The revised (July 2025) Dyslexia Informational Handbook is now available! Updates reflect changes from the new Georgia Early Literacy and Dyslexia Act (House Bill 307), signed into law in April 2025. This new law aimed to merge and clarify the early literacy and dyslexia requirements previously established by Senate Bill 48 (SB 48) in 2019 and the Georgia Early Literacy Act (HB 538) in 2023. Educators are encouraged to read the handbook in its entirety to understand the requirements surrounding literacy and dyslexia. Schools and educators should begin reviewing their current practices to make sure they are aligned with the new legislation.
