1056.Resource, CODE, PUMAS, Real-World Math Examples

 PUMAS (Practical Use of Math and Science) has collected 93 examples that span all grade levels of activities that might be used as real-world math and science connections. As always, teachers should review carefully before using with students to make sure that topics and content are age appropriate. This statement is copied and pasted directly from the PUMAS website:  "Use these examples as a resource -- Select, adapt, recontextualize, and present the material to your students in a way that you judge will best meet your students' needs, abilities, and interests."

 

HGRESA Note:  The new math standards which will be tested in FY23 will include more emphasis on reasoning and beginning with real-world problems. These examples may help.
