• The learner will identify characteristics of a language-focused classroom environment. 
• The learner will be able to define the components of oral language, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and social communication. 
• The learner will learn classroom activities that promote the development of all components of oral language. 

This course will equip teachers with the knowledge of the components of oral language, their impact on literacy, and how to strengthen oral language in the classroom.  Most importantly, this course provides teachers with the necessary tools they need to meet the needs of all students, including those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
