Mary shares blueberries with Mrs Bishop. She is so delighted by the unexpected gift that she bakes blueberry muffins to share with five people. These five people are so happy to receive an unexpected gift that they share kindness, time, and talents with five more people, who share with five more, and on and on. Through this story, we learn that simple acts of kindness inspire others to be generous. It’s a bonus that we also learn about cause and effect. The book celebrates acts of generosity for the benefit of others.
