The children’s literature selections were chosen to supplement the Writing Minilessons  in Small Moments, Writing with Focus, Detail, and Dialogue (Grade 1, Unit 1, Narrative) and A Guide to the Writing Workshop, Primary Grades. Suggestions for the Mentor Texts listed below are integrated into the Minilessons. Page numbers for Small Moments, Writing with Focus, Detail, and Dialogue are included for ease of locating the writing techniques and skills and the relevant portions of the lesson.
