Freshmen Advisement Period - Personal Development Content Opportunity
The IDEALS Foundation has been working with young people since 1993 and was asked by the Georgia Department of Education to produce life skill content for both CTAE and high school students prior to the pandemic.
In addition to those programs, IDEALS has focused its work on providing resources to help freshmen students navigate the transition from middle school to high school more successfully. They have developed two short video programs designed for advisement period application that use high school students as speakers.
The first program focuses on the importance of decision making. These students are now going to start facing situations in high school that are going to require good decision-making skills in order to optimize their high school experience. This interactive video walks them through a simple but effective way to do just that.
The second video was produced after interviewing 94 high school seniors asking them – now that you are seniors, what would you have liked to have known about high school as a freshmen that would have made your high school experience more enjoyable, less stressful, and more successful? Three high school seniors narrate this short video sharing the results from those interviews.
Don’t miss out on learning how you can make these two programs available to your students at no cost to your school.
