Description: In this interactive session, participants will deepen their understanding of writing instruction as it aligns to Georgia’s K-12 ELA Standards. Participants will examine key writing research, explore strategies for integrating reading and writing, and design writing tasks that strategically utilize standards from across the domains in authentic ways. The session also highlights connections between content literacy and disciplinary literacy (for the ELA discipline) writing strategies. Through collaborative activities and real classroom examples, educators will experiment with instructional strategies, feedback structures, and writing processes that support student learning and engagement. This workshop is available as a K-5 OR 6-12 full-day, in-person session, or as a half- or full-day virtual session.
