Strategies for coping with schools and the school system, teasing and bullying, and the lack of self-esteem in the child with dyslexia will be discussed. Ways to boost self–esteem in children will be illustrated with concrete examples. The role of fathers and/or other male figures will be outlined. The positive role of parent support groups and organizations such as IDA will be stressed.
