6295, Resource, GaDOE, Cursive Handwriting Guidance for Grades 3-5: February 2025 Instructional Recommendations and Resources

Guidance is now available to support effective handwriting instruction in elementary classrooms! The K-2 Print Guidance and 3-5 Cursive Guidance provide instructional recommendations and resources to help educators integrate handwriting seamlessly into daily instruction. Each guidance document aligns with Georgia’s K-12 English Language Arts (ELA) Standards, which take effect in the 2025-26 school year, ensuring a consistent approach to handwriting instruction across grade levels. These resources provide developmentally appropriate strategies to strengthen foundational literacy skills and promote effective handwriting instruction from kindergarten through fifth grade.
