2611, Resource, McNamara, Algebra I with Desmos

With the release of the revised Algebra I standards for the upcoming 2023-24 school year, students will be tasked with having to meet no less than 46 “Expectations” in preparation for the spring Milestones assessment- making it imperative, therefore, that Algebra I teachers use every pedagogical tool at their disposal to help each of their students master those related skills.  What the state is explicitly encouraging in the new standards is the free use of Desmos graphing technology which will not only engage more students (particularly those with a visual or hands-on learning preference) but also save the class time by vertically aligning a sizable portion of Algebra I topics.  

 

What follows in the folder “Algebra I with Desmos" is a collection of Milestones-aligned examples specific to Algebra I whose solutions are illustrated graphically and confirmed mathematically and that are organized in order of the revised Algebra I standards themselves.
