One of the leading causes of people quitting their jobs is workplace stress and the impact it has on the mental health of employees. For individuals, the experience of starting and quitting jobs is in itself stress-producing. For employers and HR managers, the difficulties with employee retention contribute to increased costs and decreased productivity.

Navigating Emotional Realities with Adults is an on-demand workshop that explores the emotional functioning of adults in a workplace setting. Accessing current neuroscience information and applying it in the context of the high-paced, stress-filled world in which we are all living and working will assist individuals in better understanding their own emotional experiences in the workplace. It will also help staff understand the emotional and relational dynamics they encounter at work and supply individuals, staff, and HR/personnel managers with strategies and tools to assist in developing a workplace that supports the mental health of all employees—a key factor in retention and productivity.

Among the concepts included in the workshop are:

  • The neuroscience of emotional development and relational functioning
  • Ways to be aware of and promote a safe work environment
  • Understanding adult stages of development and how they impact the workplace
  • Recognizing generational patterns in relationships with co-workers
  • Conflict resolution tools
  • Strategies for building and sustaining a workplace environment that encourages retention and productivity

360Writing: What's New for 2024-25?

The 360Writing frameworks for 2024-25 are fundamentally similar to the 2023-24 edition, though we have also made some updates that look to the future as well. We think you will really like these.

What remains the same is the basic structure of the frameworks. For each genre and grade level, there are nine weeks of instructional and assessment materials, and a pacing guide for each week, which you can follow “as is” or in modified form.

For the final nine weeks, we will provide a supplement on spiraling instruction in the three genres in grades K-2, and a supplement on on-demand writing for grades 3 and higher.

In terms of updates, there are four to point out:

  1. Additional Multimodal Writing Activities
  • The next generation of writing assessments in Georgia in 2025-26 are slated to be multimodal (i.e., writing activities that include documents in multiple modes – not only reading passages but also video clips, audio clips, infographics, data tables, etc.). To help even our youngest students approach such activities with confidence, we include additional examples of writing activities in which we help students first explore documents in multiple modes and then write about what they discovered! That said, the exercises also remain current to the Georgia Standards of Excellence and End-Of-Grade and End-Of-Course Assessments, given that we have one more year of teaching these standards and administering these assessments. For instance, in grades 3 and higher, you will continue to find several examples of paired-text extended writing activities. In short, the 2024-25 frameworks remain grounded in the present while keeping an eye on the future as well.
  1. Check-in Webinars
  • KRA will host brief (i.e., 30-min.) webinars three times per quarter for each grade band (one just before the quarter, one approximately one-third through the quarter, and one approximately two-thirds through the quarter). These provide an outlet for you to pose questions, discuss successes, troubleshoot challenges, and explore examples of completed student work. Here is the webinar schedule.
  1. Everything in one place!
  • All materials for each genre and grade-level are in a single Google Slides deck. Texts, rubrics, scaffolds, videos, etc. are all hyperlinked and so are just a click away. With the exception of videos, you can download any of the hyperlinked materials and modify them, as you see fit.
  1. Updated Videos
  • The videos for using the frameworks in each genre have been updated for 2024-25. These are hyperlinked in your frameworks and so are just a click away.

Finally, before using the frameworks, we would suggest that you watch the intro video.
